WHO WE ARE
Creation of the Nocona Sports Complex and the Vocational Technical School are literally being created "hand and glove." Land was donated with a focus on education and the Nocona Sports Complex Board wanted to focus on creating a school to enhance and enable the residents to begin a career in nursing and EMT training while also focusing on fire safety and the necessary courses to meet those career goals.
Sitting across from the land is the Nokona ball glove factory which aided in the idea to create a sports complex to host weekend ball games and bring forth new revenue to the community and new revitalization of economic development to the community. The two facilities will be built out together with classes beginning in September 2019. Healthcare and education are an underlying element of the community so when considering baseball, it was clear that an Angel Field should also be created, allowing the focus to be on both handicapped children and adults, and creating a venue where they could play baseball.
Project Address: 40 acres just north of Highway 82 and south of Highway 1056, east of Willow Street and west of the Nokona ball glove factory driveway.
Capital Sources: Nocona Economic Development Corps A/B, Texas Rangers Association, Angel Fields, and Nokona.
Technical School in coordination with the Chicago School of Education and the Dallas Institute of Nursing.
